Let’s get it straight, we all like the taste of Nutella regardless of the fact that it is not healthy. There are many recipes for homemade Nutella, but we will present to you the real one. The secret in making tasty Nutella is adding high-quality ingredients like coconut oil, and the way of preparing the hazelnuts because they are the main ingredient in the original Nutella.
- 280 grams of hazelnuts
- 4 tablespoons of cocoa
- 150 grams of sugar in powder
- ¼ teaspoon of salt
- ¾ teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 4 tablespoons of coconut oil
How to Prepare the Hazelnuts?
Add 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda into boiling water. It will form foam. Add the hazelnuts into the water and cook them for 3 minutes. Don’t worry if the water darkens, that’s how it should be. While the hazelnuts are cooking, prepare a bowl with ice-cold water, preferably with ice-cubes.
Remove 2-3 hazelnuts from the pot using some spoon and put them in the icy water. You should be able to remove the skin easy, if not so, return the hazelnuts in the boiling water and cook them for additional 1-2 minutes. Repeat the test once again, and if it works – remove the skin from the hazelnuts. After peeling, you should dry the hazelnuts and then roast them in your oven at 170 degrees Celsius (338 F) for 10-15 minutes.
Once the hazelnuts are roasted, you should put them in your blender and blend them until you get creamy composition. Now you can add the rest of the ingredients and blend until they are combined well. Store the mixture in some glass jar and refrigerate it for 30 minutes.
The homemade Nutella’s shelf-life is 2 weeks, but knowing the fact that there aren’t dairy products included in it, it could last for longer period of time.
I hope this recipe will make you happy if you are Nutella lover, but keep in mind that you should eat it in moderate amounts! Enjoy!
