The strict diet with reduced calorie intake such as 5: 2 (five days on usual diet and 2 days fasting), can help the body to defend itself from bad diseases as cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease and others which is written in a recent study.
The study showed that the usual diet, three meals a day plus snacks is actually not normal because is contrary to the body’s natural biorhythm.
This diet is called 5: 2 and this means that for 5 days you consume food that you normally consume, and the next 2 days you need to fast, i.e. 500 calorie intake per day, which is the diet that has been practiced by our ancient ancestors, hunter gatherers who rarely or never got sick from obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
The study was published in PNAS, report from the National Academy of Science in the United States.
Fasting or radically reduced caloric intake can help the body to reduce fat in the blood and regenerate cells and thus slow down the aging process.
Also, it can reduce tumors and protects neurons from being damage because it can cause neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
The study points out that natural biorhythm disorders or the internal biological clock makes people and domestic animals to eat more due to which they become prone to obesity, diabetes and related diseases.
